Back from the CAEA Conference...

Just back from Los Angeles and the CAEA Conference. My workshop went well and I had a good time meeting so many new people with the same passion as mine. Kids and Art!!!

I was not all that surprised to see that the Conference this year was poorly attended and the exhibitors hall half full. With budget cuts and poor economy ART will suffer first in many school districts :(

My daughter came with me on this trip to help out and act as my personal assistant, Art encyclopedia, travel companion and best friend. We had so much fun and I will remember this trip forever. Love you girl...

Thanks to all that attended my workshop!!! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me here or through my email. It was a pleasure to meet all of you. I am working hard on publishing my ART Lessons for kids (Kids ART Classroom) Magazine and will let everyone know here on my blog when it is ready to be published.

Today I need to get back in the swing of things again....unpacking (hate that) and ship some art I sold, grocery shopping and pick up the role as soccer Mom again. Good to be back home.

Have a super ARTSY week !!!

More fun and whimsical ART

s
Today I have been busy listing some new and old art for sale on EBAY. I need more room in my Art Studio but hate to part with my ART. These need a new home so if you see something you like visit me on EBAY. The TAGS are wonderful gifts since they can be used for so many things... bookmarks, gift tags, scrap booking... The bidding starts at only $ .99!!

The fun and whimsical painting with the 3 little creatures is brand NEW. A personal favorite is the piece with the mugs....painted on wood 6x18 and ready to hang.

Other than that I am waiting for rain....boy do we need it. Born in Sweden where we have rain year around to living in California where we hardly ever have rain is different. Perhaps I need to do some rain dancing... If you feel like you have had enough rain please send some my way, I am sick and tired of the sun and would love a gloomy and rainy day...heck...why not a whole week.

Just a quick entry today.....found the most amazing jelly roll fabric yesterday and just can't wait to start quilting...

Also, made a  "ME" for my Skype page so now you can finally see what I look like :)
Will post pictures as my quilt will come to life. I can't find a pattern  l like so I am designing my own.
Wish me good luck.

Whimsical and Fun ART

Some whimsical and fun art that I created last week. Since then the creative part of my brain has been on the OFF setting. Today I might change that and find some time to spend in my studio. It is such a mess in here I SHOULD clean and organize first but... perhaps I will create first and then clean :)

I am still having a hard time after loosing all the data and pictures on my laptop a few weeks ago. My new online magazine with ART Lessons for kids had all the research and pictures with lesson plans on the old hard drive. It is now all gone and it is hard to get started yet again but I will.... just need a little more time.

I am teaching a workshop (Wayne Thiebaud inspired cupcakes) at the CAEA Conference in Los Angeles November 13. If you are in the area, love kids and art or teach art to kids this is the place to be the weekend of Nov 12-15.

That is about it for now so have a nice rest of the week and keep creating with your kids...

Remodeling completed.....

The remodeling is now completed and starting this weekend is the project to put everything back again. We are a reading family and have hundreds of books that need to be put back in the book shelves. The kitchen is wonderful and I now need to figure out where everything goes. Seems like I have way too much stuff....how can that be??? :) Pictures will be posted soon when everything is perfect again. I am not making new art yet but selling some old art on Ebay.
Next is finishing up my studio where we have stored most of the books and kitchen gadgets for close to 4 months. I can't wait to have my studio back again. My cat Max is just as pleased as I am about this and can't wait to curl up on my over stuffed orange and purple chair by the window. I look forward to a cup of coffee in the same chair early in the morning.... perhaps already next week.

Over and out...

When time flies no ART is created....

I really do understand the term "artists block" now....never did before. For as long as I remember I have needed to create on a daily basis, anything really from drawing with my children, doodling on junk mail while on the phone or a 10x20 canvas painting. These last 3 months the need is gone :( I am afraid it will never come back...
The water leak and kitchen remodeling project is partly to blame I know.... the studio is now a sort of storage ground for boxes with pots and pans, spices and grandmas old china. It is a mess and I don't even want to go in there. The laptop is downstairs at the kitchen table these days..
My biggest worry is that I don't draw and write in my art journals....at all...they just lay there and wonder what on earth they did wrong.
Have you ever suffered from "artists block" ? if so let me know....I need help I think...
